Fic: A Lost Boy, Chapter 15 Title: A Lost Boy Author: AngiePen Pairing: Liam Neeson/Orlando Bloom, minor Liam/Johnny Depp, plus a few other pair-ups among the supporting characters. Rating: NC-17 overall Summary: Slave Orlando's been taken and the kidnappers aren't interested in ransom. And of course Master Liam's thundering rage is only at the personal insult, that someone would disrespect him by daring to touch his property. Disclaimer: I don't own anyone you recognize. I know nothing about their social lives or sexual activities, more's the pity. This is fiction, period. It is done as a labor of love and I make no money from it. Notes: 1) Set in LJ PoisonTaster's Kept Boy universe -- FAQ here. See Chapter 1 for more notes. Previous Chapters: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen, FourteenLiam had never really noticed before how much of the room was taken up with body-slaves. It made sense, of course; they were almost half the occupants. Everyone present in the hotel ballroom, except for the catering staff, had a body-slave nearby. Everyone except him, of course. EPPIE Finalist! I just found out that "A Spirit of Vengeance" has made the EPPIE finals! (The EPPIEs are the yearly awards given by EPIC, the Electronically Published Internet Connection, basically an association for writers and publishers of e-books.) I'm ridiculously happy -- making the short list is a great honor and I can't stop smiling. :D
This was my first time entering and I was feeling kind of hesitant, but now I'm glad I did. Winning would be awesome, but just making the short list has me over the moon!
Congrats as well to my fellow Torquere author Tory Temple, who also made the finals for two of her books! Good luck, Tory!

[Headdesk] Just in case any of the 27 people in my in-box are/were wondering, my laptop suddenly lost the ability to talk to my mom's ISP's DNS server the other day. No clue why. I could get to a web page if I put in the IP address, but it wasn't interpreting the URL. [mutter] I just got off with tech support and we're fine, although we'll have to reset the resettings every time I visit up here, yay. Anyway, I'm going through my in-box, and I appreciate everyone's patience.

Vacation, all I ever wanted... Well, kiddies, I'm off to Los Angeles tomorrow for 7 days. This is a much needed vacation. I've had a rough time of it lately, and I'm looking forward to a bit of relaxation. I'm going to Loscon after Thanksgiving, and I'm cosplaying L. I'm hoping to take pictures. Cross your fingers. To those who celebrate Thanksgiving, have a wonderful turkey day. Stay away from this if you can, because organic non-genetically engineered soybean turkey just sounds disgusting :P See you all on December 2nd! --P |

hp_darkfest Recs! hp_darkfest is winding down to a close, but I wanted to post some of the fics/arts I enjoyed throughout the month. His War is Finally Over - Snape/Harry [NC-17] by Anon. [HEED THE WARNINGS IN RED]Sixteen hundred words, and I ate up every single one of them, member of the 'clean plate club' that I am. Let me quote some of the fic to you. What a tumbledown mess of a creature Potter was, arms and legs akimbo, as graceless as he'd been in life.
The light caught the young muscles stretched and slack under creamy skin, the ladder of spine emerging fragile from gently undulating planes of back and the sweet dip of sacrum that made Severus' mouth go dry.
His fingers in the boy's hair released an untainted, adrenal musk that rose up and bored straight into Severus' hindbrain, like a Bludger to the back of the head.Would you believe this came from a necro fic? Neither could I. Get over your euws and nose wrinkles, my Snarry-lovin' bébés. Squick factors are much like gag reflexes. You can get past them with a little push. This fic is well worth the unpleasantness. The closing line is killer. ( [other points of interest] ) |

Hacked? [sigh] Okay, it looks like orlandoslash has been hacked. Someone named moodark is the only mod now (I'll admit I don't remember who the mod(s) was before, but I don't recognize that name at all) and posted a message about how the community was being shut down and all posts deleted, with references to other sites where posts about "sewing" would go from now on. Umm, yeah. They also have the com set to full moderation, so a post I tried to make over there is sitting in the mod queue and will probably never be seen. Can anyone who remembers who the mod was send her an e-mail? Or even file a complaint with LJ, just to get the ball rolling? I'd do it myself, but it'd be better if it was someone who could point the abuse team at the right person to contact. :P It'd suck massively if this Moodark person actually deleted all the posts, though, so someone with some authority over the community should get ahold of LJ ASAP and file a complaint. I'm assuming they can look up who the mod was/were until today or whenever Moodark snagged it. For anyone who's curious, the "We're shutting down" message contains links to three other sites. I clicked on the first one, which claims to be some sort of explanation, is a TinyURL (the main reason I hate those things) directed me to something in Russian. The second is openly a Russian site, and the third is another TinyURL which I'm assuming is also Russian. So basically this is comment spam on a seriously huge level, to hijack clicks to a site most of us can't even read, presumably to bring in ad revenue or something. [snarl] Angie |

Crafty! I spent a productive day off working on my schmoopy cheesy Snarry holiday cards! They're so silly, I might actually end up keeping one for myself! If you'd like one, my sign up post is here. All comments are screened of course. ETA: My address is the same as last year, if you'd like to send me a card back (though certainly not required!) Several people asked and I couldn't unscreen the comments to reply. ETA Part 2: Please don't sign up at this post, since the comments are only screened on the sign up post linked above. Thanks! :D |

Shoes...? You know you live in California at sea level when you're packing to go to Reno, with a shuttle coming in ten minutes, and it just occurrs to you that you should probably pack, like, actual shoes and socks. To wear in Reno. In November. Instead of the sandals you've been wearing when you go outside since, like, February.
Just a thought. [facepalm]
Angie
PS -- socks, where the heck are my socks...?! |

because it's worth saying A good reminder from cleolinda. It's all good to have fun with something in your journal, so go crazy with that. Just don't be a jerk and say loudly disparaging things in a movie theater while someone is trying to watch a film they're excited about. Remember, other people think your beloved fandom is ridiculous, and you wouldn't want them scoffing in the aisles or snorting over your shoulder when you're trying to enjoy it. Incidentally, I'm probably going to see Twilight. I mean, hello cultural phenomenon! How could I not? But as I can't imagine any sort of promise in return or bribe is going to get Mr. Nous to go with me, I'm going to have to persuade area LJ people to come. *offers up large popcorn* Current Mood: cold |

question for folks reading over at Snarry Holidays Is anyone else trying to read longer fics for Snarry Holidays getting a 509 Bandwidth Limit Exceeded message from the hosting website? I can't seem to get to any of the longer fics or hosted graphics right now.
I do think it might just be me, because I can't see the teaser-graphics for the most recent post, and it would seem from comments that other respondents are able to view them. |
